Hello 6th graders, this is Mr. Sam!
Have you heard about NovelAI, a deep-learning technology that can transform your photo into a digitalized anime version? In the past, the idea of AI dominating the creative sphere might have seemed like pure science fiction. Yet, with rapid technological advancements, even the seemingly unbreachable boundaries of creativity are being redefined.
I want you to experience the power of AI-rendered art firsthand. Before our first meeting at PEAI, I would like you to complete a special assignment:
What to Submit:
A photo of yourself without a mask (a one-person portrait or two people max, as AI cannot recognize masks).
Five pieces of information for your AI illustration:
Style: What kind of art style do you want the AI to generate? (Examples: anime, Ghibli, Disney, Pixar, webtoon, pixel art, vintage comic, game illustration, cartoon, claymotion, realistic, impressionism, rubbercore, etc.)
Genre: What unique theme do you want to incorporate? (Examples: Christmas, fantasy, young adult, slice-of-life, thriller, sci-fi, dystopian, futuristic, daily life, gothic, romance, magical school, etc.)
Vibe: What is the mood or the feeling of the person in the photo? (Examples: mysterious, happy, adventurous, festive, peaceful, cheerful, mischievous, nostalgic, relaxed, gloomy, confident, energetic, etc.)
Scenario: What is the person doing in the photo? (Examples: watching a movie, going on a family trip, gazing at the sky, sitting at a cafe, reading a book, holding an axe, flexing one's muscles, etc.)
Strength: How much do you want the AI to deviate from the original photo? Low strength means closer to your original photo, while high strength allows for maximum creative diversion. (Choose a percentage between 30% and 70%.)
To help you understand what "strength" means, take a look at this example of a photo I took with my wife. The strength ranges from 30% to 70%:
**You can see the lower strength yields more realistic versions, while higher strength allows the AI to make creative experimentations.
HOMEWORK:
Send your photo (a self-portrait with no mask) to my email: sampeai77@gmail.com. Include your full name and the five pieces of creative information listed above. I will generate two AI-rendered versions of your photo. During class, you’ll pick your favorite AI creation, and it will be displayed on the classroom walls.
In addition to this, I want to introduce you to an exciting yet thought-provoking concept.
Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer at Google [X], predicts that by 2049, artificial intelligence will be a billion times more intelligent than humans.
In the comments section below this blog post, briefly share your thoughts on how we should prepare ourselves for the rapid advancement of AI.
Good luck, and I can't wait to see you soon!
It's not an exaggeration to say that AI could in fact start a war with humanity AND win; it's almost becoming a fact. We are developing AI more rapidly than we have thinking. Mo Gawdat's "confession" supports that. AI is becoming our owner, not our servant. If humans don't take care of the problems AI can make, humanity could possibly end. AI is a very valuable, developed tool that humanity has ever used. We should strictly restrict the possibility of exploit. If we do not take caution on AI and not prepare, AI would be the first invention of humans that doomed humanity.
Currently, it is the start of 2025, and it is the truth that AI, artificial intelligence is advancing more and more. It can easily be said as a part of our daily life, as AI is used almost everywhere from chatbots that can hold natural conversations to algorithms that predict diseases and create art. AI is an efficient tool that is used. It helps industries like healthcare, finance, and transportation. Thanks to AI, industries are having major improvements. However, we must think: is AI only helpful and safe? The answer is no. Although AI is extremely helpful, it also has its cons. AI is causing job loss, and ethical issues like bias or privacy. If AI is used smartly, with…
In today's society, AI, or artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving, in a rather disturbing speed. AIs are now capable of performing tasks that were once thought to be uniquely human, easily completing assignments that require more than 'just knowledge'. They are composing music, writing poems, and even playing chess, stunning us humans. But they don't stop there. They also thrive in more complex areas like medicine, law, and engineering.
Like this, artificial intelligence is advancing at an unprecedented rate, transforming industries, economies, and even aspects of our daily lives.
However, the thing is, this powerful technology is very easy to find, in fact too easy to find. The most iconic and probably the most used AI, ChatGPT is accessible to…
There is no denying it: AI has caught up to humanity. At this rate, according to Mo Gawdat(former Chief Business officer of Google), AI will be a BILLION times more intelligent than by 2049. Though I believe that an AI apocalypse will continue to remain as mere sci-fic movies and nothing more, there is a much more unique threat that I think most people are completely overlooking: the google apocalypse.
As several people have stated, we are slowly being taken over by AI. Instead of AI being a tool for us, we're becoming the tool. As we slowly let AI do all our work for us, we slowly but surely become slaves of quantum computers. Eventually, though our lives may…
Artificial Intelligence has become well-educated to the point that they can be trained to perform narrow scope tasks much, much better than humans. Technology is improving faster than our eyes can follow. AI engineers and technicians strive to make AI truly intelligent, to make it surpass even human wisdom. Until now, the improvement of Artificial Intelligence was a slowly inflating balloon, not even close to being ready to float. Now it has become a balloon that is drifting upwards, soon to be out of our reach. In this speed, Artificial intelligence will, according to Mo Gawdat (the former Chief Business Officer at Google [X]), "be a billion times more intelligent than humans by 2049."
I worry that if we …
